Chino Kafū (香風 チノ Kafū Chino) is a protagonist in the Is the Order a Rabbit? manga series as well as its anime series. She is voiced by Inori Minase.

Chino acts far more maturely than her age, and is normally the most responsible and organized member of the Rabbit House Café. She takes her work very seriously and gets annoyed when people act recklessly or loudly around her. She resents being treated like a child.

Chino has a very reserved disposition, speaking with minimal inflection and in a formal register. She cares for her friends and feels comfortable around them, but it takes some time for her to open up and learn to throw herself into fun.

Whenever Cocoa is away from work at the Rabbit House, Chino becomes absent-minded and longing. On one occasion, she unconsciously made several hot cocoa drinks.

Misao Kusakabe (日下部 みさお, Kusakabe Misao) is a childhood friend of Ayano Minegishi since kindergarten, along with Kagami, her fellow classmate. She is a stereotypical 'tomboy' character and Konata Izumi's rival.

Yuki Nagato (長門 有希 Nagato Yuki) is a main character in the Haruhi Suzumiya franchise (original light novel series, TV anime, and manga). She also appears as the main protagonist of The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan.

Previously a member of the Literary Club, Yuki is the third person to join the SOS Brigade. At first glance, she appears to be an introverted, taciturn bibliophile. She later reveals herself to Kyon as an alien created by the Data Overmind, and possesses supernatural powers as a result. She was sent to North High to watch over Haruhi Suzumiya, and over the course of her time there she comes to develop insights into being a person, as well as emotions (according to Kyon). She plays a major role in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Yuki is commonly known by her surname Nagato without any honorific (which is not unusual). For example, Kyon calls her "Nagato", as opposed to how he calls Haruhi Suzumiya by her given name (Haruhi) and Mikuru Asahina by her surname with honorific (Asahina-san).

Yuki is voiced by Minori Chihara in the Japanese dub and Michelle Ruff in the English dub.

Mikuru Asahina (朝比奈 みくる Asahina Mikuru) is a main character in the Haruhi Suzumiya franchise (original light novel series, TV anime, and manga). She is the fourth member to join the SOS Brigade, and the only person other than Kyon to join against her will. She is a shy and cute "moe" girl, often harassed by Haruhi Suzumiya.

She is secretly a time traveler from the future who came back in time to observe Haruhi. She is best friends with Tsuruya and shows a great talent for brewing tea. Mikuru often has trouble talking to Kyon because many of the things he asks about are "classified" (禁則事項, kinsoku jikō). Mikuru is the mascot for the SOS Brigade, mainly as a way to attract attention. Because she is so popular, Haruhi uses her as eye candy. She starred as the lead in The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00. Before being forced to join the SOS Brigade, she was a member of the calligraphy club.

Mikuru resides in Kyon's time as a second-year in high school, thus an upperclassman to the first years Kyon, Haruhi, Yuki, and Itsuki, and yet Haruhi ignores this fact and kidnaps Mikuru to be in the SOS Brigade as the fourth member because of her boy attraction. She says that in every interesting story, there is always an alluring, "moe"-looking character present. From then on, Mikuru becomes a symbol of cosplay/mascot to Haruhi's whim. Before being forced to join the SOS Brigade, she was a member of the calligraphy club.

Mikuru often is forced to take Kyon back in time to perform certain actions, such as taking him to meet the younger Haruhi or helping him save himself from getting killed. However, because of the intervention of a self from a further future, she is often put to sleep and wakes up confused as to what she has accomplished and whether her presence was meaningful or not. Often, Mikuru gets to witness historical events that contribute to time travel being possible, but because she cannot take an action to instigate it (Kyon is usually the instigator), it leads to a sense of hopelessness and uselessness in her.

Mikuru is voiced by Yūko Gotō in the Japanese dub and Stephanie Sheh in the English dub.

Tsuruya (鶴屋 Tsuruya) is Mikuru Asahina's best friend. She tends to be hyperactive and has a very loud voice. Tsuruya has long green hair and a prominent upper canine tooth. She is friendly and laughs a lot. Her sharp tooth gives her an idiosyncratic speech pattern, causing her to say things wrong and leave out syllables. Her speech is often accompanied with a lisp and her catch phrases: "megas" and "nyoro" (にょろーん). She also refers to the members of the Brigade in different ways, as in referring to Haruhi as "Haru-nyan".

She was named "honorary consultant of the SOS Brigade" by Haruhi. She appears in The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00 and plays baseball with the Brigade in "The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya".

Tsuruya appears to be quite athletic. She performed admirably (given the circumstances) in the baseball game, and various alternate versions of her have demonstrated strength and even hand-to-hand combat abilities.

Tsuruya comes from a wealthy family who knows a lot about the SOS Brigade. Her family cooperates with Itsuki's 'Agency'.

Yuki Matsuoka voices Tsuruya in the Japanese dub and Kari Wahlgren voices her in the English dub.

Emiri Kimidori (喜緑 江美里 Kimidori Emiri) is a humanoid interface and was sent to observe Haruhi Suzumiya along with Yuki Nagato and Ryoko Asakura.

Emiri appears to be a pacifist, having engaged in two aggressive confrontations with Kuyoh Suoh, but in neither case did she do any fighting.

Yuri Shiratori voices Emiri in the Japanese dub and Hynden Walch voices her in the English dub.

Ryoko Asakura (朝倉 涼子 Asakura Ryōko) is a Data Overmind Humanoid Interface, much like Yuki Nagato, and serves as Yuki's "backup unit". She initially held the identity of a highly social high school student and the class president for Haruhi Suzumiya's homeroom class, but after Yuki defeated and removed her from the physical world to protect Kyon, a cover story was created that she moved to Canada, having Ryoko's "father" call the school to say that she had moved, without leaving any contact information.

Natsuko Kuwatani voices Ryoko in the Japanese dub and Bridget Hoffman voices her in the English dub.

Akari Shiratori (白鳥アカリ) is a competitive idol and the older sister to Hikari who she formed the unit KariKari with. She transforms into the gold idol warrior and represents alto.

Hikari Shiratori (白鳥ヒカリ) is a professional idol and the younger sister to Akari who she formed the unit KariKari with. She transforms into the silver idol warrior and represents soprano.
