Kanda Hare (神田はれ?) is a character in the Dig Delight Direct Drive DJ franchise. She is one of the four DJs of the group EGOEGG.

A pushy, always-hungry unemployed girl. She encountered DJing in high school and became the founder of EGOEGG. To being the group back after a three-year hiatus, she springs into action.

She hates when things don't follow her pace and is notorious for having a harsh and curt way of speaking and treating others. Truth be told, she's not great at communicating with others.

On the EGOEGG audition page, Hare was described as being solitary and stoic about music.[2]

According to her elder sister Sora, Hare is a child prodigy of various things, being able to claim gold medals on the tournaments. However, everything she did, she quickly got bored of it and moved on to the next one. Hare explained in EGOEGG Re:born VOL.4 that, the reason is because, even though she can learn something very fast (which, generally, it should take way more time to learn), that's how far she can go. When there is really a stronger rival with the skill level exceeding her limit appears, Hare chose to ran away, knowing that there is no way she could win.

This is also the main reason why EGOEGG ceased abilities three years ago, as Hare realized that Shiodome Raika, Tanimachi Jiu, and Ichinohashi Mikumo are getting better and better on DJing (to a level better than Hare), while she just stayed where she was. Feeling frustrated, Hare decided to "cease the abilites of" EGOEGG three years prior to the main storyline, something she regrets even today.

In EGOEGG Re:born VOL.4, feeling the same way after trying so hard, Hare is about to quit again, thus making EGOEGG in danger of ceasing abilities again. However, thanks to Kusakabe Toru talking her out, Hare decided to stay in the unit while chasing behind the other three DJs, knowing that it's not an easy path to walk on.[4]

Shiodome Raika (汐留ライカ?) is a character in the Dig Delight Direct Drive DJ franchise. She is one of the four DJs of the group EGOEGG.

A stuck-up college girl with a serious need for attention. A former child actress who loves being fawned over. Her pride runs high, and she can't stand not being the best at everything. She's easy to bait, so she's constantly butting heads with Hare.

On the audition page for EGOEGG, Raika was described as being prideful and self-confident, as well as being an anime and seiyuu (voice actor) otaku.[2]

Sometimes when she does not get the answer she wants, her prideful character may go out of control. According to Hare, it was Tanimachi Jiu and Ichinohashi Mikumo to make her settle down.

Also according to Hare, Raika is "a fool who relies on others' ratings too much and thus fails to realize her own talent". In other words, her talent will bloom, under a correct environment.

Tanimachi Jiu (谷町慈雨?) is a character in the Dig Delight Direct Drive DJ franchise. She is one of the DJs of the group EGOEGG.

Ichinohashi Mikumo (一ノ橋美雲?) is a character in the Dig Delight Direct Drive DJ franchise. She is one of the four DJs of the group EGOEGG.

Kigurumi Haroukitei (波浪浮亭 木胡桃, Harōkitei Kigurumi) is one the protagonists of the anime and manga series, Joshiraku.

Harōkitei acts as the family name with "tei" ending all the family names of the characters.

When asked what she normally does, she replied "shop." Her music preference is Death Metal.

She usually appears as the "cutesy" young, innocent, girly character of the group. Often having to reply to their questions in such an idiotic way that she'll then reveal her inner performance to the audience. Her real personality which she hides from the group members is often only shown when she expresses how annoyed she is at them for their exaggerated expectations. Her personality in these times is clever and cynical. She seems to hide her true personality and prefers acting childish.

However there's reason to believe that whatever the case may be, she may well be the youngest of the group. In episode 3, after the group decides to eat lunch after visiting a temple, she's seen drinking what appears to be orange juice, while the others are clearly drinking beer. In episode 6, Gankyou says that Kigurumi is underage and should not smoke, after interpreting her hand gesture to mean that she wanted a cigarette. Later, in episode 11, during their Christmas party, Kigurumi suggests a toast. Marii, who is already consuming a pitcher of beer, pulls out a bottle of Chanmery (a carbonated non-alcoholic drink that is served in a small champagne style bottle typically offered to kids during Christmas parties) and tells her that she gets the non-alcoholic drink.

(As a side note, the legal age for purchasing and consuming both alcohol and tobacco products in Japan is 20 years old. Additionally, at the time the manga was published, a person was not legally recognized as an adult in Japan until the age of 20. As of 2022, the age of adulthood is now recognized at 18 years old, though the previous age restrictions for purchasing and consuming alcohol and tobacco still apply.[1])

Kukuru Anrakutei (暗落亭 苦来, Anrakutei Kukuru) is one the protagonists of the anime and manga series, Joshiraku.

Anrakutei acts as the family name with "tei" ending all the family names of the characters.

A girl with straight dark blue hair who is very good at acting, but is an unlucky girl and is very emotionally unstable. Her name is a play on several words, all of which have to do with things that are very negative in nature. She has a clumsy personality shown in the ending.

Her name is perhaps a pun on anrakushi ("Euthanasia") and kukuru ("to hang"). Her name could also be read alternatively as Kurakutei Kurai, which is very similar to kurakute kurai (lit. "dark dark"). Anrakutei also sounds similar to the word "unlucky". Also, the kanji in her name minus the character Tei could be read very literally, as "falling into darkness" and "coming of anguish".

Tetora Bouhatei (防波亭 手寅, Bōhatei Tetora) is one the protagonists of the anime and manga series, Joshiraku.
Bouhatei acts as the family name with "tei" ending all the family names of the characters. She's also the supposed main character of the series.

She states that she finds it hard to go into Gyūdon restaurants because there're a lot of men and you can't look too fashionable or too casual so she finds it hard to keep the balance of standing out and blending in.

Gankyou has mentioned that since childhood, Tetora has been blessed with incredible luck, so much so that Gankyou and anyone else around her will experience bad luck when something good does happen to her.

Gankyou Kuurubiyuutei (空琉美遊亭 丸京 Kūrubiyūtei Gankyō) is one the protagonists of the anime and manga series, Joshiraku.
Kurubiyutei acts as the family name with "tei" ending all the family names of the characters.

When asked what she normally does, she replied "read books and surf the web..."

She is often very violent towards the other girls, particularly with Marii and sometimes shown to be almost slightly insane, this of course is not the case as other times she is completely normal.

She is rather obsessed with eyeglasses, even going so far as to punching Marii for wearing a similar style of glasses in a different color. When she removes her eyeglasses, her eyes turn into small "3"s but it also allows her to hit even harder than normal. Though in other episodes, her eyes are normal when she goes out with the girls and doesn't wear glasses (which would imply that it was either a one-time gag or she wears contacts on her off days to make them look normal) Tetora noted that when Gankyou goes to offline meetings and notices that 50% of the attendees are wearing glasses, she will removes her to balance things out.
