What is an AI voice changer for singing?
An AI voice changer for singing takes a vocal and sings it back in a different voice. The melody, the timing and the words stay yours; the tone of voice changes. Most tools do this with voice conversion models such as RVC, which learn what one voice sounds like from a few minutes of recordings and then repaint any other vocal with it. Our RVC explainer covers how that works.
That is a different job from a speech voice changer. Tools made for calls, streams and voice notes are tuned for talking: they react fast, but they flatten pitch and smear long notes, so a song comes out wobbly or robotic. A singing voice changer has to follow pitch closely, hold sustained notes and cope with breaths and vibrato.
There are two ways these tools work:
- On a recording. You upload a song or record yourself, wait a moment, and get a finished file back. This is how Jammable, Kits.ai, Audimee and ElevenLabs work. It gives the best quality because the model can look at the whole vocal at once.
- Live. The tool changes your voice as you sing into the microphone, for a stream or a call. Voicemod and Applio do this. It needs a capable computer and trades some quality for speed.
We compared six tools that come up most for this question, using each tool's own homepage and pricing page. Where another tool does something better than Jammable, we say so.

How to change your singing voice with AI on Jammable
- 1
Open the cover maker
Go to Create. It runs in the browser on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install.
- 2
Add your singing
Press Record and sing into your microphone, or upload an MP3, WAV or M4A file of up to 6 minutes and 75 MB. Use your own recording or a track you have the rights to.
- 3
Pick the voice
Search the voice library by name or category, or choose a voice you trained under My voices.
- 4
Match the pitch
Pitch moves in semitones, from -24 to +24 for each voice. Going from a male to a female voice, try +12; female to male, try -12. A shift of 12 keeps the vocal in the same key as the music.
- 5
Tell Jammable what you gave it
If your file is only vocals, turn on My audio is just vocals so Jammable doesn't try to separate it again. If the song has harmonies or ad-libs, turn on Split out backing vocals for a cleaner lead.
- 6
Create and listen
Jammable separates the vocal, converts it and mixes it back. Your covers are saved in your Library, and you can make another version with different settings at no extra cost.
Can you change your singing voice in real time?
Yes, but not on every tool. Voicemod and Applio change your voice live, which is what you want for singing on a stream or in a call. Live conversion has less time to work with, so it usually sounds rougher than a converted recording, and it needs a capable computer. Jammable, Kits.ai, Audimee and ElevenLabs work on recordings: you sing, upload, and get a finished file back. For a song you plan to post or share, a recording almost always sounds better.
Can I make an AI voice changer sound like me?
Yes. Training a voice on your own singing gives you a model that sings whatever you record or upload, in your tone of voice. On Jammable you need at least 3 minutes of clean singing or speech in one voice; 6 to 10 minutes usually sounds better, and up to 60 minutes are used. A voice trained on 10 minutes of audio is usually ready in about 25 minutes. Training comes with the Creator plan ($9.99 for the first month, then $24.99 a month) and the Power plan, or with a training pass on other plans. If you already have an RVC model, you can upload its .pth and .index files from your Library instead.
Kits.ai can also make an instant clone from about 30 seconds of vocals, or a closer professional clone from 10+ minutes, from its $10 Starter plan. Audimee includes 1 to 8 voice slots depending on the plan. Applio trains for free on your own computer. Train on your own voice, or on a voice whose owner has agreed to it. The full walkthrough is in how to train your own AI voice model.
How much does an AI voice changer for singing cost?
Most tools meter how many minutes you can convert each month:
- Jammable: $1.99 for the first month, then $8.99 a month on Basic, with unlimited covers. Creator is $9.99 for the first month, then $24.99, and adds voice training and shareable videos.
- Kits.ai: free with 15 conversion minutes; $10 for 60 minutes; unlimited from $30 under fair use.
- Audimee: free with 15 minutes for personal use; $9 for 1 hour; $19 for 3 hours; unlimited at $37.
- ElevenLabs: free with 10 minutes; $6 for 30 minutes ($1 the first month); $22 for 121 minutes; $99 for 600 minutes.
- Voicemod: free to download; its site doesn't list the Pro price.
- Applio: free.
If you make a lot of covers, unlimited plans work out cheaper than paying by the minute. If you only need a few minutes a month, a metered free plan may be enough.
Why does my AI singing voice sound robotic?
The usual causes are strong autotune, a pitch that doesn't suit the voice, harmonies the model tries to sing as one line, or a voice model trained on short or noisy audio. Each one has a setting that fixes it; why does my AI cover sound robotic goes through them one by one.
